（1115—1184）眉州丹棱人，字仁甫、子真，号巽岩。高宗绍兴八年进士。十二年，始调华阳主簿。历官至礼部侍郎。孝宗淳熙十一年，以敷文阁学士致仕。卒谥文简。以名节、学术著称，长于吏治，关心民瘼，然终未获大用。博览典籍，著述宏富。纂修《续资治通鉴长编》，用力四十年始成，取材广泛，考订精核。又有《易学》、《春秋学》、《六朝通鉴博议》、《说文解字五音韵谱》及文集等。
