常慧（1557－1643），明末江西建昌云居山真如寺僧，曹洞宗三十二世高僧。诸缘洪断禅师法嗣。字味白，号龟山，俗姓胡，南昌（今属江西）人。世称常慧味白禅师。年十五出家，旋受戒。奉师命广参博采，道行日进。公元1598年（万历二十六年），上云居山谒洪断禅师，留侍左右，得法为嗣。于重建真如禅寺立有大功。公元1612年（万历四十年）洪断禅师退归燕京，乃奉命率徒守祗树堂。未久真如常住敦请出任住持。在任二十余年，维护道场，颇历艰辛。公元1637年（崇祯十年），仍退守祇树堂，课徒训孙，克己修行。学识渊博，儒释兼通，工诗善文，长于言辩，德才均堪称同代僧俗师表。
