译文
昔日苦于长饥饿，抛开农具去为官。
休息调养不得法，饥饿严寒将我缠。
那时年近三十岁，内心为之甚羞惭。
坚贞气节当保全，归去终老在田园。
日月运转光阴逝，归来己整十二年。
世道空旷且辽远，杨朱临歧哭不前。
家贫虽无挥金乐，浊酒足慰我心田。
注释
投耒：放下农具。这里指放弃农耕的生活。
将养：休息和调养。不得节：不得法。节，法度。馁（něi）：饥饿。固缠己：谓陶渊明无法摆脱。
向立年：将近三十岁。渊明二十九岁始仕为江州祭酒，故曰“向立年”。志意多所耻：指内心为出仕而感到羞耻。志意：指志向心愿。
遂：于是。尽：完全使出，充分表现出来。介然分：耿介的本分。介然，坚固貌。”田里：田园，故居。
冉冉：渐渐。星气流：星宿节气运行变化，指时光流逝。亭亭：久远的样子。一纪：十二年。这里指诗人自归田到写作此诗时的十二年。
世路：即世道。廓悠悠：空阔遥远的样子。杨朱：战国时卫人。止：止步不前。
挥金事：《汉书·疏广传》载：汉宣帝时，疏广官至太子太傅、后辞归乡里，将皇帝赐予的黄金每天用来设酒食，请族人故旧宾客，与相娱乐，挥金甚多。恃：依靠，凭借。这里有慰籍之意。

陶渊明（约365年—427年），字元亮，（又一说名潜，字渊明）号五柳先生，私谥“靖节”，东晋末期南朝宋初期诗人、文学家、辞赋家、散文家。汉族，东晋浔阳柴桑人（今江西九江）。曾做过几年小官，后辞官回家，从此隐居，田园生活是陶渊明诗的主要题材，相关作品有《饮酒》、《归园田居》、《桃花源记》、《五柳先生传》、《归去来兮辞》等。
