承宫，琅邪姑幕人。少孤，年八岁，为人牧猪。乡里徐子盛明《春秋》经，授诸生数百人。宫过其庐下，见诸生讲诵，好之，因忘其猪而听经。猪主怪其不还，寻之。见而欲笞之。门下生共禁，乃止，因留宫门下。樵薪执苦，数十年间，遂通其经。
承宫樵薪苦学译文及注释
译文
承宫，琅琊姑幕人，幼时丧父，在他八岁的时候，帮别人放猪。乡里的徐子盛精通《春秋》这本书，传授的学生有上百人。承宫从他房前经过，看见那些学生在朗诵，感到很喜欢，便忘记了他的猪，听徐子盛讲经书。猪的主人对他还未回来感到十分奇怪，便前往去向承宫索要（他的猪）。看见他在听讲经书，就想用竹鞭打他。学社内的学生一起阻止，猪的主人才没有打他。承宫于是就留在徐子盛门下学习。承宫在那干苦活，上山砍柴，吃苦受累，很多年后，最终精通了这本经书。
