年年才到花时候，风雨成旬。不肯开晴，误却寻花陌上人。
今朝报道天晴也，花已成尘。寄语花神，何似当初莫做春。
采桑子·年年才到花时候鉴赏
“年年才到花时候，风雨成旬”，作者本来要写这年寻花被误，可是一开始用的是一个含量更大的句子，这样子不仅能罩得住全篇，而且使题旨得到更广泛的扩充。“不肯开晴”语意和“风雨成旬”略同。不过这不是多余的重复，因为如果只是“风雨成旬”，那么那些痴情的惜花者也许会想：总该有一刻的天晴吧，只要乘这个机会看上一眼春花，也就不枉度此春！看那“误却寻花陌上人”的人或者就是这么想的。不然他明知“风雨成旬”，为什么还要寻花陌上呢？而正是因为有了“不肯开晴”，“误却”二字才更见份量。
但是，词篇也不是顺着一个方向发展下去的。过片的“今朝报道天晴也”就忽如绝路逢生，然而紧接着又一个转折：“花已成尘”！上片说“误却”，总还是误了当日仍有下一日的希望。而此时一个“尘”字已经把花事说到了头，因此对寻花人来说，剩下的便只有懊丧与绝望。“寄语花神，何似当初莫做春”是作者的怨怼语，也是痴想。这种痴，正说明了他的情深；而这种至情寄托着作者对社会人生的感喟，词中埋怨花开不得其时，也蕴含了作者生不逢时，怀才不遇的感慨。
