译文
南方的管乐，北方的燕歌发出的声音都震动了厅上的画梁雕栋了。夜深了，舞女们又换取新的舞衣，开始下一场演出了。
汉代的名相公孙宏广开门庭，招纳四方宾客。因为他知道这种荣华富贵不是能长久的。
注释
喻：开导。
楚竹：楚地的音乐。竹，指管乐，这里泛指音乐。燕歌：北方燕地的歌曲。
更阑：夜深。又作“春兰”一词，意指舞女。
公孙：即指公孙弘，汉武帝时期的丞相，他在位时，知道一个人的富贵的长久与他的名声相关。于是公孙宏开东阁招待宾客，广纳人材，因为他的谦恭，四方人士都传颂他贤相的美名。也正因为他的好名声，所以很少受到别人的攻击，最后终于丞相之位上，得到善终。而他后面的几任丞相都性格乖戾，得高位后与旁人疏远，最终获罪，也无人给他们求请，下场十分凄凉。阁：又作“馆”。嘉客：指贵宾。
云：又作“荣”。

喻夫阻客创作背景
王韫秀的丈夫元载在当上宰相之后，渐渐的荒废政事，开始沉溺于酒色当中。其中元载建芸辉堂，蓄养大批歌女舞伎，纵情其中。王韫秀看到这种状况非常担心，于是写诗以公孙宏为例提醒自己的丈夫，希望他学习公孙宏善终，不要步公孙宏后任的后尘。

喻夫阻客鉴赏
这首诗中王韫秀用典贴切，展现了自己才女的史学功底，历来为后代文人赞赏。其中“知道浮云不久长”因为蕴含着哲理性被誉为名句。
开头一句“楚竹燕歌动画梁”，楚竹和燕歌，分别指代南北方的音乐，由此可见元载网罗了全国各地的佳丽。家中的美女之多，不言而喻。其中动一字，可见声音之大，绝非一个两个歌女在歌唱。画梁应该是指元载专门修建的芸辉堂，有金屋藏娇之意。“更阑重换舞衣裳”点明是在夜深时，元载还在观赏歌舞，早就沉醉于酒色之中，政务已经被他抛在脑后了。
接下来王韫秀笔锋一转，从现实中来到历史中。“公孙开阁招嘉客”一句中“公孙开阁”这个典故用的贴切自然，公孙宏，元朔中为丞相，封平津侯。为了收罗人才，就起客馆，开东阁以迎贤人，士人也因此而认为他是贤相。享年八十，死于丞相位。而他之后的几任丞相，由于作事乖戾，故多遭刑戮。王韫秀是想用这个典故告诉丈夫，富贵要想像公孙宏一样长久，要广纳人才，交友四方。“知道浮云不久长”这句是在前三句上得出的结果，结论更直白的来劝告元载，富贵如浮云一般，不可能长久，要早做打算，居安思危。
整首诗不仅体现了王韫秀的才女气质，更显示了她敏锐的政治观察力和洞悉人心的哲学思想，在表达上相对委婉，后世文人皆赞扬王韫秀能力在其丈夫元载之上。
