刘光祖[公元一一四二年至一二二二年]字德修，简州阳安人。生于宋高宗绍兴十二年，卒于宁宗嘉定十五年，年八十一岁，登进士第。除剑南东川节度推官。淳熙五年，（公元一一七八年）召对，论恢复事，除太学正。光宗时，为侍御史，极论道学所系。徙太府少卿，求去不已，除直秘阁潼川运判。后官至显谟阁直学士。卒，谥文节。光祖著有后溪集十卷，《宋史本传》传于世。
