（1498—1552）广东揭阳人，字仁夫，号东涯。嘉靖五年进士。授户部主事，出为梧州知府，擢广西副使，累迁右佥都御史，总督宣大山西保定军务。修筑边墙八百余里，明斥候，禁杀降，荐用良将，以御俺答。以丁父忧去。后俺答逼京师，朝廷起万达为兵部尚书。路远不能即至，为严嵩所谗，降为侍郎。旋又被黜为民。三十一年再起为兵部尚书，未闻命卒。谥襄毅。
