边元鼎（约公元1165年前后在世）字德举，丰州（治今内蒙古呼和浩特白塔镇）人，状元边贯道第三子。生卒年均不详，约金世宗大定五年前后在世。十岁能诗，资禀疏俊，诗文有高意，多有佳句为人传诵，为时辈所不及。与兄元勋、元恕俱有时名，号“三边”。天德三年（1151）进士，以事停铨。世宗即位，张浩表荐供奉翰林，出为邢州幕官。复坐诬累，遂不复仕。
