唐德宗时期，安禄山起兵反叛，卢龙节度使朱泚及部将张光晟也起兵反叛。李晟奉命征讨叛军，活捉了张光晟。张光晟表示愿意重新归顺唐王朝，德宗身边大臣坚决反对，只好处死他。张光晟感慨地说：“第一不要做，第二做就要做到底。”
