春秋时期，晋厉公派栾书率军攻打郑国，楚武王派子反率军去迎战晋军。楚武王的眼睛被晋军射伤。晋军栾鍼对楚军子重说晋军打仗喜欢好整以暇，得先换使者敬酒，而不是仓皇应战。楚军与晋军打了一天一夜还不见分晓。
