梁武帝时，谏议大夫韦恕被贬为驷马监的判院。一天梁武帝的“照殿玉狮子”跑了，韦恕的手下沿着雪上的马蹄印找到张果老的瓜园，韦恕带全家去拜谢张果老。张果老看上韦恕的18岁的女儿，韦恕顺从天意将女儿嫁给80多岁的张果老。
